Erimus Building Services (EBS), Erimus Housing’s in-house repairs and maintenance team, was highly commended in the Constructing Excellence Awards for its work to provide and surpass its customers’ expectations.

The team was shortlisted for the Innovation Award at the regional awards event, held in Newcastle, against stiff competition from seven other shortlisted companies.

The award highlights ‘innovation in finding technical or environmental solutions and overcoming problems within a project or process’.

EBS was highly commended for recognising its repairs service met national targets set to provide a good standard of customer service but failed to take into account the service that customers actually wanted.

The company carried out a full review, including analysing the current process, carrying out consultation with customers, analysing the current procedure and looking at how repairs could be carried out right first time, as quickly as possible, at a time that suits the customer and with as little disruption as possible.

The service is now fully customer focused and ensures that the guiding principle behind everything EBS does puts what matters to customers above traditional performance statistics.

The cost of a repair has reduced, productivity savings have been made and satisfaction is now consistently around 99%.
